falling table leaf of credenza fold-away table

We have a pug and Pembroke corgi, who like to be at our feet during meals. While celebrating our first meal in our rig using the fold-away table, the dogs bumped the leaf support several times causing the leaf to drop. Fortunately, we were able to catch the leaf in time to avoid loss of the meal. Holding the support in place temporarily with a scraps of wood was a temporary solution.

The solution was to use a double magnetic cabinet catch mounted under the leaf with the metal strike plate mounted on the folding support. Felt pads were placed under the support base to alleviate side-to-side instability.

For those interested in adding a fold away cutting board shelf, the 12" "folding shelf brackets" can be obtained from Rockler.com.

Sounds like a good fix! Could you post a picture of your application?

Yes, our Pembroke also is most attentive at meals!
