Dump the gaucho and go with recliners??

We are close to having our gaucho removed so we can just use a couple recliners. The gaucho is in fine shape and we will sell it, but I need to hear comments from people who have done this and especially how you covered the areas where your converter sits etc.etc. Just thoughts from folks who have done this swap.
And yes, if we go ahead, we WILL sell our gaucho. Thanks for any ideas or comments.
Oh. It's a 1988 28' Excella 1000

Well, If you look around and ask- I have seen some pretty nice arrangements with swivel recliners. I have seen them before and it's someone on this site that did it and it looks great. I would do it, however, we've got those drawers underneath, and some mysterious space back behind along with whats under the arms on the sides, Plus the carpet goes right up to the edge at the bottom. How much would the used couch go for anyway?

A-Ha! it was you.! But what about affecting the value of the house? Is it an upgrade or is it a personal thing that doesn't matter.

We're thinking of doing the same thing, but with a real sofa instead of the recliners. The comfort level of the gaucho is about a three on a scale of 1-10. Although, the right recliners could work too.

Kind of hard to find sheets to fit the recliners ...

This link will take you to additional info on the subject.

I am also considering the changeover for comfort reasons..

Check out the third post in the thread from 2Irishuman, (give credit where credit is due) there are additional links to previous threads. It always helps that members are willing to do the work to search the threads on the forum and keep track.

We're putting in a reclining loveseat. In fact, we're supposed to pick it up tonight. Its zero clearance, which means it actually needs 1.5" to the wall. It does need 65 inches from the wall to the end of the footrest in full recline. That will dictate some of the design of the kitchen cabinet. With chairs you can angle to the center and probably avoid the cabinet issue.

We did it on a later model 28'. Here is the link, I hope. Best mod we made so far.

I put this reclining love seat in the 60 Ambassador and what a difference in comfort. It's zero clearance and fits just fine. I built end tables with matching material and there was room behind for the converter. I don't care about the value of original as this raises the value in my mind.

We bought our 78 28' Ambassador with the recliners. We love them. At home we have two matching recliners and I sleep in mine often. We have a table lamp/magazine rack that fits between. This was done by the PO and they are not secured but don't move on the nice thick carpeting. Very cozy. In our 65 we had a loveseat which I could sleep on-being on the short side but I think the two recliners is much more practical and comfortable.
