dish storage, two methods

I wanted to keep all "mouse-able" food up above the sink, so the dishes had to go below, somehow. In one trailer I used a tilt-out drawer sitting on the floor, which can be picked up and put on the counter (not usually necessary). You have to get it level by a combination of drawer and floor blocks that equal the toe kick height. This "drawer" has been many miles in two different trailers with old axles and has never jumped out of it's place or chipped any china. NOte that the piece that rotates on the toe kick is rounded, as it the back of the toe kick--provides a smooth rotation, yet retains the drawer tightly against the toe kick when it is not tilted.

The other is a standard roll-out drawer under the sink, which has a cut-out for the J-trap.

The rubberized shelf pad provides peace of mind and allows the dishes to be somewhat loose in their cubbies.

Very good idea, our dishes are always cluttering around. My wife has suggested that I put the cabinet where I took out the dashboard. I hope she was joking.

You do have a good solution to the problem. I'll have to try to use your idea in my Safari. Thanks.

what was I thinking? (I really hate to document my absent mindedness....)

The cutout for the J-trap isn't in the dish drawer! It's in the other trailer next to the dish "fold out" drawer! This allowed an additonal drawer in the stack. I think I could have made it even a little higher if I had made a true "U" out of the drawer.
