counter top remove

hello,i've got a 1975 ARGOSY 26 FOOT. I'd like to know how to remove the counter top around the stove and sink.THANK YOU. SEMPER FI ANDY

Well, it's much like at home: tap set out, clamps under sink off, undo sink drain(s), pull out sink.

I think there are usually screw at the back underneath holding it to the wall. If your model has a countertop stove, you may need to take that out too.

If you have a cooktop/oven combination, does that need to come out for the counter to come off, or can it stay in its place?

Andy your stovetop/oven should come out rather easy. Caution: it is heavy and awkward to lift. Remove the stainless stove top to access the top of the unit. I believe there are 4 screws that run through the flange top into the cabinetry. Slide stove forward, it just rests on the countertop, and unhook both the gas line and electrical wire to light (if your oven has one). I rebuilt our galley as the original was in pretty rough shape. Dropped stove right back in.
