Couch Vs. Goucho

Hi All,

I was wondering if any of you have ever replaced your front goucho with an RV couch/bed?? I have to repair my goucho and get a new mattress for it and my wife is asking about a leather couch instead. Any good or bad ideas?? I do realize I will be loosing three storage compartments but is the comfort of a couch worth that ?

And if anyone has done this how difficult was it to get it into the AS?

Higgy,

The comfort question is one that you have to answer. As far as fitting, just make sure that it will go through the door.

Many of the newer RV style couches are comfortable for sitting, but very uncomfortable for sleeping. I would decide first if this will be used for sleeping a lot, and really check the new couch for sleeping comfort before plunking down the cash.

Yes, I did.

Higgy,
Two years ago, I took a goucho out of the front of a 1978 25'. I left the framework holding the drawers in. I had to make some slight modifications to it, as well as some bracket 'adjustments' to the bottom of the couch, a Flexsteel unit. It ended up looking and working great. We got some extra material from the manufacturer to make arms with, and all was well. Oh, yeah, and the Flexstell sleeps wonderful!

Have no intention of arriving at the grave safely, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, throttle in the other, totally worn out and screaming
