closet door knobs

Help I am replacing the Closet doors in my 1965 Globe Trotter. I can not figure out how to get the old knobs off so I can reuse them on the new doors. Can anyone help me?

Question

I can't believe that I have stumped the collective mind of the forums with such a simple request. What is the secret to removing the small round knobs in a 1965 Globe trotter? Will this question remain a mystery?

I will have to go to the storage locker in the morning, were I have my Globetrotter cabinets stored to take a look...unless some one beats me to it. I know I took at least one of them off, but can't recall just right now. I think the knob just screwed off in my hand.

just want to tell everyone that the knobs do screw off. I used a pair of pliers with some short rubber hoses on the jaws to protect the knobs from scratches

I'd try a pair of pliers with some short rubber hoses on the ends of the jaws so you don't damage the knobs and try screwing them off. Good luck.
Sorry, couldn't resist. If I would have seen the post earlier, I would have recommend the pliers from Sears that have the Robo Guard tips.
