Cabinet weight?

Hello,

I have a 1976 Argosy 26' rear bath and was going to change the interior a little. I was planning on removing the bed on the door side and install cabinets from the door down to the bath. I was thinking Ikea because I like the looks of the ones in the picture below and they have something similar. My question is should I be concerned about the weight? Obviously this person did it but did he do something to compensate for the added weight?

Thanks, Gary

How much more weight are we talking? 200 -400 pounds 2-3 people in the AS. I don't think it should be a big deal. But then I added 65 gallons worth or fresh and grey water tanks, and am changing the walls to 1/2 inch birch from the original 1/8 plywood. few hundred pounds here or there can't be a big deal right?

It would be more like 400-500 pounds. I also am going to eliminate the range and install a 12" gas cooktop and a small microwave which weighs minimal.

My family sleeping in the AS weighs about 350-400 lbs. I don't think there should be a problem. Plus your taking out a 100 lbs probably.

That makes me feel better because I wouldn't want to have a tilted camper going down the road!

Thats when you just put jugs of water on one side to make it ride level.

It's not nice to talk about your family that way, plus it's illegal to have them ride in the trailer while towing! Giggle giggle.
