Restoring '66 Overlander and am 75% done with interior. The square chromed latches that hold cabinet doors closed were so badly rusted, I have rechromed them all (20 items/2 pieces each) and I am ready to re-install them. I am missing 2 of the spring steel inserts which fit in back of main body and return the lever in the locked position. Does anyone have any of these kicking around? I can send email picture but I have no idea how to attach it to this message.
Thanks James
Sounds like a simple fix if you only need a spring. While you're there get a whole mess of them and replace them all. Try www.mcmaster.com or an internet search.

They are nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find...been searching for six, got lucky and found 3 brand new ones by shear luck. Most people make the part (spring-like flat piece of metal) or switch to a new latch style.... John
How about those goofy kind of squarish white plastic ones that are on my '67 Safari, is there a source for them? Fog
Fog, I think Inland sells them. I've been looking for awhile and since I need many haven't wanted to pony up the cash for them but it looks like it might be my only option....
Yes, Inland does sell replacement latches in both brown and white. They however are not quite the same color as the originals but will do. I would take a close look at them on the InlandRV.com website to determine if you want to replace all of one color at once and keep the old ones as emergency backup parts. Ed
I am finally PROUD to announce that I have located S I X original cabinet latches for my 1966 Safari...... 3 from Dan Piper at Vintage Campers in Peru, Indiana and 3 from Ed Lamb at American Adventure RV in North Hampton, N.H. Unfortunately I was unable to locate them with the assistance of the FORUMS........ John
hi- am looking for a source for cabinet hardware, something that will securely latch the doors and drawers shut while traveling. Want something more than a friction catch, or magnet- where are these guys?? please PM me if you know- thanks, tim
Well, may luck follow the foolish.... We are missing a knob for one of the overhead cupboards in our 1963 Bambi. I have one, looking for another. If anyone out there knows of one of these little babies just sitting around lonely, we would appreciate you letting us know! Be glad to give it a nice home! Thanks!
