Does anyone know where to get a cabinet latch (brown) for 1970 overlander at a decent price? I think $10 each for a plastic latch is kinda high. I need only one but would like to have a couple spare. Lou, I heard u good at finding good prices. Help me please
Sorry, but I do not find $10.95 each exorbitant for a discintinued cabinet latch if you wish to stay original. I only wish I could find some obsolete parts just as cheap.
The alternative for buying from Inland RV would be to stay glued to eBay for someone who is parting out an AS with that latch.

Please PM me with exactly how many you need and the price you would like to pay for them. I have just finished gutting the interior of our "new" 1970 Ambassador, so I have some interior parts for sale. The previous owner started the job a few years back, then left it for someone else to figure out. I am an architect and have always wanted to an Airstream, especially one that I could customize on the interior. I just did not have the heart to destroy a perfectly good interior, so the trailer that we bought is perfect for us. Hopefully, we can give a few of the leftover parts a new home. Please let me know if you need any other interior parts as well. We might have what you are looking for...
I am searching for a Cabinet latch knob silver, or aluminum. It is the type you twist and turn. Help need only one.
Do you have a picture of what you are looking for? I have some round knobs from a 1963 Airstream... I purchased when we were restoring ours. May not be what you're looking for... but a picture is worth a thousand words!

You're looking for the ones in the top of the photo? These were actually brown, but need cleaning. I don't know if I have any spares at the moment, but there will eventually be some out of the Sovereign, when I get back to it. -- Zep
Thanks people. The knobs I am looking for are chrome or aluminum and are push and turn. Dont have pics right now. I checked inland RV they dont have them.
Zep, We are looking for the 3 cabinet latches, bottom in your photo. Do you still have them? Would you like to sell them? And what is your asking price? Or???? Thanks Aria

Having a few hundred of those latches made, is an investment.
Having a few thousand made, of course would cost less, but having an inventory like that for a part that was used from 1967 to 1970, would take Bank of America financing.
On the other hand, having cabinet latches for trailer that is over 40 years old, is sort of remarkable, at any price.
Keeping the original molds in condition, also takes time and money.
The replacement latches are not made with the same original plastic either, which also costs far more money.
The brown plastic cabinet latches are available at Airstream at Jackson Center. Top picture in that photo. I am thinking they were in the $13-14 range....maybe.

The cabinet latches for the 1964, 65 and 66 trailers have not been available for about 35 years, or more.

Your best bet will be swap meets at WBCCI rallys, or finding an old trailer at an RV salvage yard, or a request in the forums classifieds.
