Cabinet Hinge Replacement
Has anyone replaced the curved door hinges under the sink? The ones that come with the unit get in the way. Any suggestions?

I haven't replaced them but I did have an issue with the cabinet mounted half of the left side coming loose. The doors bounced open while traveling - stressing the screw connections. The screws are very short because of the three quarter inch plywood and very hard to access next to the sink. After they were tightened we now have a cabinet door shut with a plastic bag while traveling. If the wood tears out on the cabinet side it will be very difficult to replace. I'm glad to see that this is a shared problem among some owners with the curved cabinet doors. We think it's a nice architectural design but needs a bit of strengthening. Thanks for sharing.

Lack of Response?
I'm surprised I haven't received more responses. So, to increase interest I'll rephrase the question.
How much air pressure and what is the best WD hitch to use I use on the hinges?
LOL

The Equalizer. It also provides anti-sway.

I found the OE hinges at CabinetsParts.com. They were just a few bucks each.

I have been trying to find a replacement hinge for one that was broken. I actually bought one from Colonial, the AS dealer in NJ, but the hole spacing on the mounting bracket was slightly different. To use it I would have to epoxy the holes in the cabinet and drill new ones. That is difficult to do, especially to get the new hinge mounting bracket lined up correctly.
The picture shows the broken one on the left and the replacement (that does not fit on the right). The difference is the hole spacing as mentioned. The old one is 42mm and the new one 1 1/4".
I looked at the cabinet parts.com website and could not find the part that I need. Could I impose and ask if you recall the part number? I would really appreciate the help!
Thanks!

FWIW I got this issue fixed. I ended up plugging the old holes and drilled new ones for the mounting bracket. With a few adjustments the cabinet door is as good as new!

Piano Hinge door repair & Shower Door tip
These doors will be coming loose often. The hinges are great in your home, but lousy when within a moving trailer.
Take 'piano hinges' which are sold in 36/48 inch strips with mounting screws:
- Purchase two Piano Hinge strips and cut them to size. They do not have to be exact, but the more length, the better (Lowes / Home Depot)
- Determine which way that the hinge opens to the fullest range. (There is a wrong and right way to mount. Ask at the hardware desk...)
- Mount one so the hinge is outside the door surface with a top and bottom screw. (This is get it straight and aligned with the cabinet.)
- Check the closing and opening. If it binds, you are not vertical. Have someone help hold. (If it has a little pressure, you may be off a little, but not affect your opening and closing. Perfect, the doors will swing easily.)
- Align so the door will engage the door lock. Too high or too low... close can be adjusted.
- When you have figured out mounting the first door, repeat on the other.
- When traveling, tie a shoelace or nylon cord around the handles to secure well. (This saves you cheap plastic cabinet door lock(s).)
If you get these figured out. Do your closet door, next. Same process. Align the door and mounting wall even and keep the piano hinge outside. The hinge will be outside, but not binding. You cannot close the door flush with any of the hinge inside the flat area. Look at a professionally installed piano hinge if you are not sure. It is the diameter of a small nail and needs to be just outside and exposed.
This is something you can visualize, but getting it straight is important. There will be about 10 to 15 small screws to secure each side to the piano hinge. We never had a door come loose due to the hinge screws backing out.
Taking string, cord or shoe lace to secure your handles from opening is important. This has been discussed by myself on a Thread somewhere on the Forum. It may have been in 2008.
Take child proof locks to drawers than open and fall out, as well. That is also on the Forum somewhere... long forgotten.
Take your shower door hinge slop out. Mount a L bracket at the top, drill to tap a metal screw hole to a bracket. Mount it so the shower door will not bounce up and down. It will break the pivot at the bottom. (You will know if the bottom pivot is broken when you need to lift your shower door to open and close.) By preventing the shower door the up and down movement while moving, you will save yourself a much harder repair.
Sorry to be so long... but this is more of an easy watch and do yourself, versus explaining. Some cabinets may already have a piano hinge... look at how it is mounted. You will not regret this permanent FIX.
(If you want to 'hedge' with less effort... put a section of piano hinge between the original door hinges. This will remove the up and down vibrations considerably and you can spend all the time you like getting it aligned before securing permanently.)

Do it.
Based on advice I read here, I went ahead and replaced my European hinges with piano hinges. It was pretty easy, and vastly supperior to the frustrating, and broken, OEM hardwear. I never did find a good match to buy a replacement for the Euro style.
I bought the piano hangers straight off the shelf and Home Depot - no cutting involved.
I also bind the doors with one of those Nite Ize gear ties, when towing, to keep them from swinging at will!
I’m thinking of replacing more throughout the trailer, as it sucks to have to keep resetting hinges once you’ve dragged gear over them.

Looks good
Thanks for posting. We do a lot of boondocking and washboards are tough on the stock hinges.
This is on my upgrade list!

The piano hinges also aid the placing, and moving, of stuff under the sink. Those stock hinges are no bueno.
