Cabinet finish from 1968

I saw an eBay ad for a 1968 Globetrotter and have a question about the overhead cabinets. It was my understanding that Airstream manufactured the cabinets out of wood until the 1970 models. These cabinets don't look like wood or perhaps a previous owner retrofitted these cabinets.

Those look exactly like my cabinets. They are covered with a vinyl and have a metal trim piece top and bottom. They are wood underneith. You are correct, the rest of the cabinetry is real wood.

It's the same in the 66 and the 68 but the 68 has blue as opposed to the "white" (white being a relative term...)

Vinyl upper cabeinets were the norm in post '64 trailers until the introduction of the tambour doors in '71.
