Bunk bed in front end cap

We recently acquired a 23' Safari. We're considering installing a bunk bed in the front end cap over the gaucho. Has anyone ever done or seen some thing like this? Is it feasible? Any input would be greatly appreciated?

Thanks

Tom

Can't say that I have seen it done. If you do it, you will have to build your bunk so that all of its weight and stabilization comes from the floor of the trailer, because there are no ribs in the upper part of the front or rear endcaps. I have the interior out of my '73 right now and can take a picture of it to show you what you have to work with for framing (it isn't much).

god luck!

I figured the support wold have to come from the floor. I have already removed the endcap, and interior walls in the front, so I can see there is very little rib area to even consider connecting to.

Thanks for your input. I'm a long way from even starting this portion, lots of frame and sub-floor work still to go, but if it works out I'll post pics.
