Aluminum Strip Between Counter and Back Wall

Hi All,

I have a friend that is renovating a 70s 28' AS. She's looking for an aluminum piece that goes between the counter and back wall to replace sealing with something like caulk.

The folks at Camper Clinic told her that they could get her one if she could find out a model that has said piece. Does this ring any bells for anyone?

If so, any idea of a year/model Airstream that would have had this?

Thanks,

Lynn

We have a '71 Tradewind and our kitchen counter has a short backsplash covered with laminate. The other counters have a vinyl strip that works sort of like upholstery piping.

Vintage Trailer Supply carries it: Round Welt

Thanks for the info! I'll pass both of these sources along to her and let her decide.

There are many aluminum extrusions or brake shapes that would work. Find a real building supply store and you should be able to find clear anodized aluminum angles in 8 foot lengths (often used for door and window installation). Fry Reglet makes all kinds of aluminum shapes that might work and could be purchased from a local building yard or window/siding installation company. An RV supply store might be very limited in terms of what is actually available out there.

Airstream Part Number for Aluminum Trim Strip

My 2008 Safari 27FB SE has this aluminum trim strip in the kitchen. I checked the Airstream parts book for my trailer and the part number listed is 115064 and is described as "Trim, Aluminum Counter Top". Maybe the part could be ordered from a dealer or Jackson Center.

The strip is now being used in both the bath and kitchen in current models.

Hope this helps.

I a looking for Airstream part number 115064 Trim Aluminum Counter Top 8' Long. Found it at Silver Trailer Supply for $72.69. Anybody know the manufacturer? Cost is excessive (like most AS Parts)
