The good news is, they had it delivered right to our local store and we didn't have to pay for a tube to ship it in or shipping at all - it turned out to be MUCH less expensive. We got (4) 8' lengths for <$13 (3 bucks a length +tax) which was less than the cost of the tube to ship it in from VTS - let alone the product & shipping.
They didn't have a minimum order at our store...but, even if they do have a "6 piece minimum" order at your store...that's only $18 + tax...can't get much cheaper than that. It's the exact same thing that VTS carrys, same manufacturer, same product as the link you posted here:

Metal Trim

Anybody know the SKU number for Home Depot's trim? THe store's I've been to here have been a waste of time and have no concept that this trim exists.

Richard,

Home Depot does not have a SKU for the trim because they do not stock it in any of their stores. The only way to get it there is to walk up to the Customer Service desk and ask them to special order it for you. They do stock other M-D items so they have no problem with the special order. You will not be charged for the box, shipping or handling. Each piece should be less than $4 and we only ordered four at a time.

Wow! That is really nice looking trim. Even though my counter and table are trimmed in maple, I'll keep this info for the unforeseeable future.

You can also use 3/4"x1/4" aluminum C channel. That may be what Shari used above, I can't really tell. I used it in a Spartan I am restoring. It looks clean, and is relatively inexpensive. a 6 foot piece is about $9 at my local Ace Hardware.

I used both the A-813 that we special ordered through Home Depot and the Countertop Edge moulding which are exactly the same thing.

Counter Trim

Thanks for the insight on Home Depot. I'll do that. Does anybody know which trim to order L type to use on the edge of the kitchen counter that would work with bottom against the formica and the back against the alum skin?

Thanks
Richard

Forget the molding, I want those York Peppermint Patties, Shari!!!!

I used to love driving by the plant, on my way to school, when I was a kid.

Table Counter Trim

My search continues. Home Depot after 3 stores was clueless, one couldn't order or find info on MD. One Ace store offered to order it, manager got back to me after 3 weeks and said I needed to order 6 pieces and it would take 2 months to get it in. Looks like I'm going to VTS, hopefully they'll have it in stock.

Table Counter Trim

So I ordered the edge molding from VTS, paid for the 8' tube and it finally showed up, except the tube was empty. The plastic taped over ends were gone on one end and hanging by a thread on the other. So thanks UPS.
VTS is sending out another round so we'll see this time what happens.

That's nice...

Uh...have you considered an alternate moulding? You obviously are not meant to get this one...OMG! I'm sorry, but I had a good laugh at your expense...thanks, I needed that!
