adding an access door to water pump under closet?

I have a 1990 29'. It has twin beds in the back and a cedar lined closed in the hallway adjacent to the bath. I want to make better used of the space under the closet where the water pump is. The current access hatch is only the closet floor. I have to unload the entire closet to gain access to the pump and lines under it. Has anyone ever added a door to the front so you do not have to unload the closet? If so just wondering what you did or how you made the door. Pics would be great! Just looking for ideas because I want to add some shelves in the right side of the closet but I still want easy access to the pump area under the closet floor.

In a trailer that my brother use to own we added some more hinges and cut the closet floor so we only needed to empty part of the closet.
