Added a new cabinet

The space above my microwave always seemed wasted and since my wife has trouble using the cabinets above the kitchen counter, I made this addition. The side panel is oak plywood (very highly figured and may get replaced) as are the shelves. The cabinet frame is 3/4" red oak from Home Depot. The doors were ordered from Rockler. Matching pulls ordered from AS. The cabinet has a false bottom that allowed me to build in the DVD player. I can reach the electrical stuff in the rear with no problem but the bottom shelf is easily removed if I need to get to anything or replace the DVD player. This created a lot of space.

Beautiful work, looks like it came from the factory.

Nice work! Yup, the side is a bit "highly figured" per photo. But you've got a template now... What a great idea and it looks "store bought"!

Great use of space

Way cool - very professional!! (why didn't Airstream think of that!)

We looked on the Rockler website - which options did you use for the door style? Looks like there's a variety of frame options.

Thanks for the kind comments folks.

Whitelight - Traditional raised panel door, red oak, frame B. $62 delivered and ready to finish. Took about 3 weeks.

Jaxon - You are correct that I will have a template (to go along with the cardboard one and the luan one.
