95 Sovreign

We just purchased our AS, a 1995 21 foot Sovreign. I am wondering about a space that could be utilized for storage. When I come in the door the refrigerater is immediately on the left. When I turn and face the refrigerater there is a cabinet over the refrigerater. When I open the door on this cabinet the storage space only goes back about 8 inches to a wooden panel. There appears to be more space behind this panel going back to the curve of the roof line. Any ideas why this space isn't opened up for storage? Thanks in advance for any imput and I really enjoy this forum.

Vent for Fridge

The "hidden" space os the area required for the fridge vent.

The fridge, both in the gas and electric mode "boils" amonia in a closed loop, and the excess heat is eliminated via the vent, through the "toaster" looking thing on top of the roof immediately above the fridge.

Refridgerator effeciency could be improved by installing a fan to help cool the back of the fridge and exhaust out the vent. These fans can be installed at RV specialty shops.

Do not do anything to impair the flow of air through the vent system. Most of our fridges operate "marginaly" at best.

Vent

Dennis,
Thanks for the info. I just went our AS and got on a ladder and I see the "toaster" thing you mentioned.
