93 Excella dinette drawers

Looking for ideas to secure the under bench drawers for travel. The drawers often slide out during travel. There is a catch of sorts but does not stop the drawers from opening.

I've seen folks suggest blue painter's tape as a quick fix to hold doors/cabinets shut. Short of replacing the hardware with a newer/stronger latch, it seems to be a good fix.

Lift the seat cushion. Drill a hole through the plywood so it inters the side of the drawer. I used an allen key to secure the drawer. When on site pull out allen key and leave under cushion. Remember to reinsert before travel.

2 good ideas. Thanks.

I was thinking of drilling from the side, but drilling from the top is more better.

Not sure what your configuration is, but we have facing drawers under our twin beds which needed similar support while traveling. The simple solution was/is, spring-rods. Not only do they hold the drawers tight, but if needed give us additional rods for use while camping.

What are spring rods? Do you have a photo?

Sometimes called Tension Rods, for hanging curtains. We buy at Walmart, as they are inexpensive and do need to b replaced now and then.
