70s Rear Bath - What is this thing?

I think this thing goes in the rear bathroom, behind the toilet, but I'm not sure. It's got a curtain track in the middle and the front trim looks like it fits some kind of insert nosing. Anybody know where this goes and how it mounts? I'm putting my bathroom together and would like to know. Thanks....

Mike

Look at this pic at the top of the board behind toilet. Looks like it to me.

Thanks, Netlace. Besides looks, I wonder what function it serves, if any?

This is the model we have however ours was stripped of these parts when we got it. From looking at pics I think it had a fold out part to go over the toilet and this one looks to have a different toilet. The upper back piece is missing as well as the toilet bench/cover.

There are good pictures to show your toilet for your year on that site. It does seem as it is the part you question. I would have not known if it wasn't for the first picture with the parts missing. If you dont have the other toilet parts I would skip it and just put a nice removable wall. I am putting a sliding tambour behind ours so we can keep the cat out and hide the pipes.
