'66 Caravel cabinet latches

Missing a couple twist latches for our 66 caravel cabinets. Will consider parts or pieces

If it's a twist latch, your trailer could be a 1965, titled in 1966. A picture would do well of what you are looking to replace. All 1966 trailers I've seen and owned have a steel latch, that was only used that one year. I tried to upload a picture of it, but I'm getting a 503 Error code,

Enjoy,

We have a '66 Trade Wind titled as a '65. The overhead locker latches are plastic and I got replacements through Vintage Trailer Supply. There are metal latches available in most hardware cabinet supplies. The lower doors that cover the plastic drawers are metal and to me annoying as they do not hold when on the road. Some are poor fitting as some of these doors are of different thicknesses and some have warped slightly making for poor fit. One day I will replace those doors but much of our enjoyment of thev trailer is USING it camping.

I have a 66 Tradewind. Here are what my latches look like. Is this what your latches look like? I also could use one of each if anybody has any or knows of a source, but if you only have one then it goes to MI66Caravel.

I agree with Neil. The metal latches are annoying and have been known to open while traveling thus spilling all the tray contents on the floor. Note- that is not my sloppy work with wood finish all over the latch. The photo makes it look worse than it really is though.

Thanks, Dan

Thanks for all the replies, as you can tell this is my first posting. The trailer is in storage for another couple weeks, i will post pics soon, so i'm recalling from memory the style. It has a round knurled knob on the outside that you twist clockwise to open. The stationary side attached to the cabinet frame has a steel wire like catch. We do have the paddle latches that touringdan showed and i think all of those are complete. Thanks again

My latches are just like TouringDad's. The plastic overhead ones are available from Vintage Trailer and perhaps InlandRv.

Plastic cabinet latches

Any word on HOW to replace the plastic latches? I too have the replacements, and have drilled off the attaching rivets, but I don't see how to remove the rivet left inside. Plus I'd like to re-glue the fabric on the inside of the cabinet door….
