1989 shower wallpaper substitution

Time to tackle the ugly and pealing wallpaper in the shower. Has anyone replaced this with something else (paint, plastic covering, aluminum sheet)? Don't really want to replace with more wallpaper as that seam like bad idea in a shower stall.

I work at a sign shop. I printed myself 1 by 1 tiles on my 54" wide format printer using the highest quality vinyl I could buy. ( The higher the quality the less shrinkage) I used the same wood that was under the old stuff, peeled the old stuff off on a hot sunny day and we immediately applied this tile effect before the stickiness that was still on the original board gathered dust. :-)

It looks Awesome!

That looks great! Sounds like installation was fairly easy. Win win

Are you talking about the wall paper that is on the wall that is actually one of the shower walls?

I just ordered por15 white cote to paint the wall (and rest of bath)but i replaced the wall with new wood so that helps, not sure I could have painted the old one.

I like what thesignlady did, looks great and since it's printed I guess you could do any pattern or design you wanted. Hope shell share some specifics, vinyl weight, type, etc, and how she thinks it'll hold up for those who may have to look local.

We put plastic sheeting on top of the aluminum wall as well as surround in the shower when we rebuilt the interior of a 1979 about 8 years ago. Link below to the blog page. Has held up really good and no leaks. I haven't had to recaulk yet either but will probably need to at some point but that is simple.
