1978 rear bathroom sliding door???

hi again,
i am thinking of replacing the bathroom sliding doors with a accordian type door. the door i am considering is light weight and can be cut to size. it closes and is held closed by magnets..... the original doors have been damaged by misuse and even after cleaning and lubricating, are a problem!!! i will have to install a track overhead for the accordian door and some velcro straps to hold the doors open, but it seems like the easiest fix??? any one have any better ideas??? thanks, tuna

How about a curtain? Even lighter weight, it will breathe (important for a bathroom), and can be taken down and cleaned as needed.

I like the shower curtain for AS rear baths... and with a curved out shower curtain rod, it great for extra room in the shower and one does not have to worry about bumping into a semi ridged door from either side... also, much easier to clean.., had an accordian type on a Holiday Rambler.... what a battle to open and shut it....

Hi. I did the same thing that you are proposing. The accordian doors work great, are light weight and more private than curtains, i.e. sounds, smells. Additionally, I cut the door opening wider than as originally sized from AS with the "pocket" door, by cutting into the left bulkhead to near the oven. I use a small bungee cord to keep the door from acting as an accordian while on the move.

i'll try your approach -- the accordian door has many advantages over the curtain which will work also!!! the main issue is getting rid of the sliding doors they are heavy and not functionable! and the smell and noise issue is important --- i will concentrate on keeping the clearances tight.......
