1969 Cabinet Latch Replacements?

Hi I am looking to replace these latches on several cabinets in my trailer. I would rather not replace them with the ones that come standard as they are a bit expensive and I worry about them holding up. Curious is anyone else has found another one to fit this space or if anyone has just covered them up (I thought about the possibility of just wrapping/screwing in some metal to cover up the hole). Thanks for the help!

The ones in your trailer lasted almost 50 years...That's not to shabby.
I have a 69 as well, the wood where the latches are mounted has a large angled notch cut out of the door panel that would be impossible to hide.

Inland rv sells replacements or you can keep your eye out for a donor trailer

Agreed. I guess I feel like the way they are designed they may not hold up the best (and the idea of spending $150+ on latches just seems crazy to me (although I am sure I will spend that several times over on just as trivial items). Do you think that covering it could be an option? I was thinking that some metal could do the trick...

It would look garish to try to cover it with a plate. If you do still have a bunch intact but weathered looking I took some second hand donors that were the wrong colour and painted them with Krylon Fusion for plastics paint to rejuvenate them.
