1964 Safari Twin Table?

I'm restoring a '64 Safari Twin. The table just doesn't look right to me. It looks as though it's been modified. It folds up and the leg which is permanently mounted stops the table from hitting the front window when it hits the upper cabinets. Below are the ruminants of some sliders that may have been for something. I'd like to restore the table to original, but I don't know what that was. Any pictures, diagrams, or detailed anything would be a lot of help.
Thanks,
Steve

Clock?

One more question. The battery operated clock in the upper cabinet isn't original or is it?
