plywood for counter tops

3/4" plywood is the standard in cabinetry, we double it up to 1 1/2" for most applications. AS of course use 3/4". ALWAYS use plywood at wet areas, MDF although smooth will not stand up to any moisture and will swell.
3/4" has structure that 1/2" does not as it is too flexible and even your screws will create visible dimples. the cost difference is negligible.

Good advice. 3/4" it will be. I am considering Corian also.

Yes, Corian is best, super strong and durable, easy to clean and you can get integral sinks. I will definitely be switching to all Corian tops in my 2017 23fb.
