The Search is over! 1980 Caravelle

After close to a year of looking , researching and chating I brought home a 1980 Caravelle from Boise Yesterday. Pictures as soon as I find a camera. Skin and floor are very good to excellent! The interior will take the most work. Some of the " Fake Wood thin vinyl " is peeling off. I am thinking about an Oak veneer and lighting up the whole inside. Ater fish camp this Fall a wood floor is going in. Need help on any ideals what others are going on these 80's airstream. Also where can I buy the front window guard for my three section window? Also what type of sealer is used around the banana belt? Already named her "Suzie Bell". As a kid we had a camper and Dad called her " Suzie Bell" and now since Dad is gone-Well you know the rest. Your help will be greatly appreciated! Don , Coeur d'alene ID

Cool! We looked at one of those last year in PAsco and almost bought it! It's a fairly unusual model - they didn't make very many.

Welcome Don

Hello.. Don .. Parbond and Vulkem or silkaflex... depends on the width of the area to be filled in.. .. The 3 section window guards are hard to come by used.. Check with Colaw's salvage.. Annie

Janet, How do I download pictures ? On my way to Boise I saw a Caravelle in Council , it had a red stripe. What's the chances of seeing two different ones in one day?, Don

Very unlikely to see two in one day! I have only heard of the 80s models, but not seen one in person. I can't wait to see your pics!
