Shower door hook: '67 Overlander

The shower door in my '67 Overlander unfolds from its storage position, and is supposed to hook on the wall near the shower head. The problem is that it doesn't, and I can't decide if I am missing a piece of hardware, have the wrong hook on the wall, or both.

The hook on the wall, judging by scratches on both the hook & the wall, appears to be in the correct orientation. However, the shower door does not flex enough to allow the hole in the door's "handle" to grab the hook (notice hook is angled in?). I wonder if there is supposed to be some intermediary piece of metal between the two.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Tom

I wanted to bump this thread to see if any 1967 Overlander International owners were online today.
