Rear access hatch leaking

We had a medium rain storm yesterday... nothing huge. I checked the coach this morning and I clearly have a leak around the rear access hatch or rear window. I'm not worried about the window... I have a plan there. The access hatch doesn't fit particularly well and there a small "flap" where the shore power line is supposed to go. I don't particularly like the design. I think something with a piano hinge and a solid gasket all the way around would seal much better... that's a quite a bit of fabrication work. Anyone have any great ideas?

Seal the flap shut.

You can use the small "D" gasket for the sides and bottom of the door, but, it will be very tight.
