Renovations!
There are just the two of us that normally travel and camp with our 23' International AS. Mulling over the interior on many evenings is various camp sites we concluded that the 10' settee/berth running lenghtwise from the dinette on the left hand side was a waste of space. ( With apologies to Christopher Deam)
So! We decided to shorten the settee by 30" measuring from the fridge wall, and add another layer of cabinetry on top of the existing floor level cabinet bringing the height of it all to the same as the galley countertop. To keep the planned drawer from being oversized, there will be a compartment at the back or " outside" end of the cabinet accessable by way of a cut out on the top of it.
A magazine rack attached to the wall under the TV will finsih it off.
Now we will have additional counter space so important for the Chef, more storage space and no more books and maps flying around.
The upholstery will be modified ( shortened) to allow room and a triangular cushion will be made to act as a back rest against the new cabinet. Now the Chef's assistant will have a nice lounging couch where he can relax after doing the dishes.
Thats the plan! I will post photos of before and after as soon as the work begins.
Cheers
