I was sitting in my stream late last week and noticed a rivet loose,inside on the ceiling. Upon closer inspection it was just hanging there. The more I looked at the whole section of ceiling it appeared that Airstream, just put a rivet in there for no apparent reason, or they messed up on pre-drilling and had to cover up their mistake. So when I dropped off my airstream today to get the black sending unit replaced they put in a Larger rivet. looks kinda outta place. I just don't understand why Airstrem tried to cover it up when they had to know the rivet had nothing to "connect" to and it's no in sequence with the others that follow the internal support beam.
I'm not gonna fuss over it, just wanted to share. Anyone else have anything like this happen?

If that rivet is attached to nothing you should be able to push on it and get the ceiling to Oil Can a bit. However looking at you picture the ceiling metal around the rivet is pulled in a little indicating the rivet caught something above the ceiling.

Let us know about the oil canning if it there.

Yes it did "Oil Can"

That picture is AFTER the repair. Notice the different size of Rivet heads.

It oil cans a little now. but not much being so close the window. Metal is already pretty tight around there.

Shane, that's a not uncommon thing. As everything settles into place, you will see a few rivets loosen, or even fall out. Either a trip to the dealer for warranty replacement, or a trip to your local Northern Tool or Harbor Freight for a rivet gun and some rivets will make things right again. If all that's wrong is a couple of rivets, it will cost less to put them in yourself rather than spending a day off work and the cost of fuel to the dealer.

At least you can see the rivets inside your unit upon the ceiling - I've got vinyl and insulation covering mine...

Yes, thats true I love the Aluminum interior of the 2010 International. Was a deal breaker for me. Gives it a modern,clean look. Plus brightens up the inside....

Do all 2009 Limited's come that way?
