Getting Bed Down

This is a stupid question, but I'm not much of a "handy" guy. I just bought a 27 FB CCD. I lifted up on the "hydraulic" bed to put stuff in storage and now I don't know how to get it back down. It appears stuck. I hope someone can help this novice Airstreamer.

Pizzlerot,

Welcome to the Forums! You'll find a wealth of information and help here.

If your bed lift is the self-contained cylinders, they sometimes stick at either end of their extension. All you should have to do is lean on the bed a little more and they should release and drop the bed.

Don't forget to use the 'search' button often. Tons of great stuff there!!!

Hi, We had the same concern with our 27FB Safari. Just push down on the bed while holding onto the plywood platform. If you don't hold the platform it will slam down on the frame. I found that by holding onto the platform and pushing down you could get a nice quiet, controlled drop without a bang.

Our bed got stuck once too. I just made sure I was pushing evenly with both hands and applied a little extra muscle. It went down and hasn't been a problem since. Enjoy your new 27, its a beautiful trailer.

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have yiu with us.

Those gas shocks need some heavy pressure to close, especially when they are new.

Reading this thread puts images of being ejected through the bedroom window while sleeping in my head.
