Airstream International Signature 28' vs. International Ocean Breeze 28'

Hello everyone!

I am new to this forum and writing from Germany and I hope you can give me as much insights and information. I would be very interested in buying an Airstream and import it to Germany. I really like the Airstream International Signature 28' from the inside design, this is very fresh design and very cool - much more european as for example the Classic Limeted.

Here are my questions:

- Where is the major differnce between the Airstream International Signature 28' vs. International Ocean Breeze 28' ?

- Is there an other model longer that 28" that has this cool design as the new International?

- Is there an "option list" what is possible to add on the web or all configurations ( exept the color ) standard ?

It looks like 28' is as long as the Internationals go for 2008/2009. The Ocean Breeze is just the interior style of the cabinet laminate, curtains, fabrics, light and drawer fixtures. I don't believe the trailer is built any different.

...The International 27 FB is 27 feet +10 inches long. Virtually the same size as the 28.

Both are nice layouts, however the 27 has more closet space (for a woman fulltiming, that's the defining difference). The end dinette has more foot room than the side dinette, which is placed over a wheel well.

The Ocean Breeze is the same layout, but light laminates as opposed to dark, and also usually sports a full awning set - in addition to the streetside full awning it has a window awning for the roadside windows and one over the main rear window. The Ocean Breeze also has more ornate drawer and closet pulls, overhead doors with "grass" plexi instead of plain, and some grass shades on the lighing fixture.

Thanks a lot for the information. I looked at the datasheet and the 27FB international trailer is longer as the 28?

I would like to have the queen size bed with two nightstands with panoramic windows. I like the international trailer better than the ocean breeze, so would you go for the 27FB or 28"?

Where is the best place to buy arround NY?

according to my booklet for 2008, the 28' is actually 27'11'' while the 27' is actually 28' in length. 27' seems to be a nicer floorplan. I found really good deals at colonial airsteam in N.J

I concur - www.colonialairstream.com check under new inventory.
This dealership is in Northern New Jersey - more convenient to NYC and Philly than to me here in Virginia! It's as far north as you can go and still BE in NJ. Ask for Patrick Botticelli or his wife - they've been trying to tempt me into a 27 FB for over a year. I'm holding out so far.



As to the Ocean Breeze/International interiors - There are "trim levels" on several same length/same layout models.

For example if you are interested in a 27 FB layout - it comes three (or five if you want to nitpick) trim levels (prices). From lowest to highest:

• Flying Cloud - (until 2009 called Safari) - "mouse fur" on the interior walls, small Herr windows, light oak laminate faux wood interior, economy fabrics.
• Flying Cloud SE (SE special edition) - bare aluminum interior walls, large windows that open fully, light oak laminate faux wood interior, economy fabrics
• International CCD (CCD Christopher C. Dean the designer) - bare aluminum interior wills, large windows that open fully, dark faux wood interior (black prior to 2007, dark brown currently) - heavier laminate than on Flying Cloud, slightly different bath fixtures - window in bath door, etc. some upgrades in window treatments, overead cabinets with interior lighting and sliding doors - roomier than Flying Cloud overhead cabinets (a modern sleek look overall)
• International Ocean Breeze - basically the same level as the CCD, but generally includes awnings all the way around, not just patio, a beachy interior in light blues, plexiglass slider doors for the overhead cabinets have imbedded "grass", there are grass lampshades and fancier cabinet pulls, interior is white, offwhite and some turned metal - that's really formica.
• Classic - leather upholstery, very traditional styling, real wood cabinets, plush. IMHO windows are overdone, wooden valences and two sets of drapes. Looks like the inside of a coffin (not my taste - I like the unit with the drapes open, feels claustrophobic to me with them closed. Not belittling any one else's choice!)

Unfortunately Airstream itself doesn't keep it's website updated as frequently as Colonial, but if you do go to www.airstream.com you can look at the floorplans of the three basic levels (Flying Cloud, International, and Classic). You'll see that the 31 and 34... only come in the "Classic" trim levels. As a matter of fact, they say they aren't making the tri-axle 34 any more since the economy went sour. You'll also see that "Classics" don't come in the two or three shortest lengths.

I do wish Airstream's website had a full display of the fabric options available. You CAN see most of them at Colonial though.
