Smile 2010 Victorinox Special Edition

Can someone fill me in on the Production History for the Victorinox Special Edition International?
There were supposed to be 125 units manufactured in recognition of Victorinox's (Swiss Army Knife) 125th Anniversary. I have #24 of 125 but I understand Airstream did not in fact produce 125 units. The number I have heard was around 50 units.

I would be interested to know the history, i.e. how many were produced in 2010 vs 2011; what was the distribution of sales, i.e. Canada vs USA; east coast vs west coast, etc.?

We have just completed a year of travel trailering across Canada, down the east coast, across the Gulf of Mexico and back up to British Columbia Canada. In all our travel, including a tour down the full Pacific Coast in 2011 we have yet to come across another Victorinox trailer.

Hi there. We have #27 which is a 27FB, we were told it is the only 27' model that was made. I saw another 19' Victorinox advertised for sale here in Canada and the 32' toy hauler a couple of years ago but other than that I haven't come across one on the road.

We have # 12, a 19 footer. We live in Northern Cali and have also never seen another Victorinox. I have also heard that not all 125 Victorinox's were made. We absolutely love our Silver Sally. Happy Glamping, Kelly!

CanAm RV in London have a 19' for sale. I saw it on the lot last week when I was down there. It looked like a great little trailer.

There's a thread somewhere on these, from when they first came out.

Thanks for your note. You have a great unit, and 27' no less! I have since learned from Airstream that in fact only 45 of the 19' units were built of which only 6 have CSA registration.

We are just across the water in Victoria. We should plan to meet up.

Are you members of the WBCCI?

I will try to post some pics of our unit (when I figure out how to do it).
Cheers,

John & Jane

Hi, I met these people in Banff; Nice family and a great, one of a kind trailer. We were on our way home from our Alaska trip.

We just bought #23, a gorgeously well-maintained 19' with a complete factory gift package. We are thrilled. Did New Years Eve on the beach at Monterey, California. Click image for larger version

These trailers I think are very cool and love the internal decor and external red. The idea was to sell 125 units of the 19' platform but dealers did not get behind the idea and the total number of units sold was around 50. I have sean many swiss clock come up on ebay for sale from Ohio addresses makes me wonder if the over ordered clocks?!

Pano window decal

Is there any data on the decal forming small pits? It looks like many of the tiny round circles have randomly "popped". The screening effect of the Alps scene seems to be made by layering sheets of film. The pits seem to be mostly on the front-most portion of the curved window and none around the sides. I'm doubting that it is impact damage since the nearby aluminum is flawless. My theory is that the tiny airspace in each circle heats differentially in the sunshine and "explodes" the top layer of film. AS Parts wants $1000 for a new decal and then there is the cost of installation. Wow.

My husband and I are very interested in buying a Victorinox model Airstream that is in good condition. If anyone is interested in selling their Victorinox, or knows of one for sale, please keep us in mind. Thank you! Enid Hughes

Can you send a picture? Has the popping broken through the film?

I've heard the clocks were going on sale on ebay and I was shocked that anyone would take them off a Victorinox after paying for the design finish. It makes more sense that they might be coming from the factory.

Pano window decal

Yes, the "pops" are individual holes in the outer clear layer, directly over the under layer that is a mass of tiny circles to make the privacy.
