Question 2006 CCD brochure...

Hi everyone,

We're anxiously awaiting our new 19' CCD, due to arrive next month. Actually, we're coming unglued with anticipation.

I was looking through the new 2006 CCD brochure from Airstream's site, specifically page 3 (attached photo), that states a higher axle system weight and a higher GVWR load for the "CSA" model. So it appears that a canadian version has 500lbs more in terms of load capacity vs. the US model.

STD 19' - axle system= 4300lb / GVWR = 4500lb
CSA 19' - axle system= 5000lb / GVWR = 5000lb

How do they achieve this and is there any noticeable differences in two models, specifically overall weight of the trailer? (in the brochure, overall weight is not seperated between the models)

thanks for any speculation,
brad.

Other models as well

I suspect that it has to do with differences in the motor vehicle laws in the two countries.

The axle capacity can be increased at axle manufacture by simply inserting longer rubber rods in the same assembly. Outwardly, the axles will appear identical.
