2006 22' Ccd

I dont see any posts here other than the one about the new color choice. Is this a good thing? My wife and I ordered a 2006 CCD International 22' last weekend and I am looking forward to getting to know others with a similar trailer.I cant wait to take delivery on the trailer and I welcome any and all advice about it as this is our first trailer

You will love your 22' CCD. We have a 06 22' CCD and have been out in it a total of 2 months since we got it. Ours is blue inside. We've had a few problems: leak in the wet bath, broken faucet in wet bath, poor toilet seal, factory forgot to install seal around wet bath sink, loose panel next to kitchen sink, tank monitors didn't work, front door didn't fit properly, etc. They were all warranty issues and our dealer rectified. We are about to start doing some serious traveling. At the end of March, we'll be gone for six months, so, we have ordered an 28' CCD. It should arrive at the end of this month (Feb). Just in time for the next trip. We just spent 30 days solid in our 22' and had a great time. Good luck!

Is there supposed to be a seal under wet bath sink? I complained about gaps arround sink and water getting into enclosed area underneath. Factory Rep. told me to " caulk it ".Not somthing I can readily do, as it's difficult to get all the way around and under the rim of the sink. Talked to a plumber. He wants to cut a access hole in the common wall under the kitchen sink to enable him to remove the bath sink and reinstall it imbedded in plumber's putty. You know Airstream said " caulk it" sooo that's where it stands..
I gotta admit, my 2006 is much improved over previous 22 CCD, but I'm still bothered by a couple of problems ,and Airstreams' tendency to just slough you off. Oh well, I guess you learn to fix it yourself, or just live with it not being quite right.

Yes, only 3 posts, yet I have owned 3 new Airstreams and travel with my Airstream 9 months a year. Oh well, what do I know...

Our 06 22' has a removeable panel under the kitchen sink to access the bathroom plumbing. Our AS dealer removed the sink and sealed it with plumber's putty. That stopped the leak. Good luck, let me know how your fix goes.

I've had my 2004 22' CCD for just over two years now. For the most part we've loved it. Some minor warranty items were properly taken care of by the local dealer.
Check previous threads on the refrigerator fan. You might want to replace it with a quieter Silenex fan.
Hanging closet organizers (from Lowes) for the wardrobe will help utilize the space in there.
I recommend a Memory Foam topper for the dinette bed, if you're going to have someone sleeping there. The fold down table rests on the seats and makes an uncomfortable hump that the regular seat cushions can't smooth out.
We changed out our wimpy battery with a larger 212 Ah battery and cover for Boondocking. See my photos in the member's photo section of this forum under RSEAGLE.

I'm counting down the days until I de-winterize my CCD and prepare it for the camping season. I hope you enjoy yous as much as we've enjoyed ours.

Thank you rseagle. I have never left anything unmodified and your battery and cover are the type of ideas I am looking for. If I can make my soon to be delivered trailer more useful for me I will enjoy it all the more. The single battery on the 22' was one of my concerns. I plan on buying a generator to offset the single battery but I like what you have done. You do nice work! Thank you again Brad

I use a Honda EU-3000is to charge my battery and run the 13.5K air conditioner. Others like two EU-2000s hooked up to give 4000 Watts. Honda and the Yamaha are very quiet, just what is desired for Boondocking.

Your replies have been most helpful. I spent last night reading about refrigerator fans and how to make them quiet.Any information you can share about your battery setup would be appreciated, this is a modification I would like to do. I grew up camping in a tent at best.In my late teenes I stayed out for a weekend at 50 below zero in a tee pee. My wife likes real nice motels. Our trailer is our compromise and I am looking forward to many trips and adventures in it. Thank you again for sharing

I found a local metal fabricator to do my battery bracket. Get some cardboard to make are mockup of the steel mounting plate for the battery based on my photos. You can fit it properly on your trailer. Get the dimensions of the battery that you're interested in and draw it on the cardboard. Your fabricator can add L-iron to hold the battery and stiffen to plate. He can also make the threaded hold-down rods and brackets. He only tacked the aluminum cover for me. I had to add the trim and logo madallion, as well as polishing it. So it was a joint effort. Also, you might have to splice extensions for your battery cables, since your battery will sit up above the tongue rail, instead of between then.
