Yamaha EF2400iSHC versus Champion 2800wt

I am interested in anyone's real world experience with these generators. I had pretty much settled on the Yamaha EF2400iSHC ($1335) because of it's reported reliability and forum members reports that they can successfully run their 13,500 btu AC with it, and its still not excessively heavy. So those of you using it is it still working OK for you with your AC? Then I saw this Champion on sale at Costco for $850 with more power and dual fuel and it gets good reviews, but some suggest it might be a little noisier, and it is substantially heavier with a battery and electric start. It should have no problem with either the 13500 or 15000 btu AC. So looking for your opinions on these--

I personally don't own either of these units, but have been at numerous campsites with others who have Champions. They are noisy and would drive me nuts. Even the newer ones.

Was in "exact" same boat and really considering the Yam2400. Last minute after much research, recently purchased the Costco Champion 2800 duel fuel inverter 850.00. As mentioned earlier, high build quality, more power, compact size (fits under touneau lid) electric start and darn quiet. Did many db sound tests in different ways and couldn't be happier especially with the cleaner LP as their already on the trailer and no 45lb gas cans needed. Would love to see a head to head sound comparison thinking it would be very close.

Champion does make many other brute force gens that are louder for sure but thinking you will like the features and quality as we have. (We're rather particular with technology and super glad we bought this Champion for many reasons).

Where they the inverter model being discussed or an open frame generator?

I have met a few people satisfied with the Champion inverter. If I were in the market for a new generator, it would be my choice....I have bought 3 open framed Champions and have had good luck out of them....One just had the alternator go out, though. It gave me 3 years 5 months of service. I used it 3 or 4 times a month for at least 4 hours at a time. It was a little 1400 watt model that set me back 149 bucks on Black Friday. It still runs great. I am sure it can be fixed. I am saving it for a winter project.

I have the Yamaha, works great no problems. Runs our 15,000 BTU AC .
Keep in mind any generator running on propane will not have the same output as gasoline.

I just bought the Costco, $850. Champion this week and I like it very much, for three reasons, it runs on propane, it powers my AC, and it only cost $850. As for the noise, it seems the same as my friend's Honda 2000, although we haven't had them running side by side. I am pretty sure you would have a hard time telling which one is louder.
I did a little modification so I could fuel it with my outside propane port. 25' FC.

We have a Champion 3100 Watt Inverter Gen. Runs our 15000 Btu AC and everything else we want to use. It is manual start weighs 80 lbs.
As to noise, you can compare all of these on line, in the same size range and you will find they are all within 5% of each other in decibel rating.
I bought it on sale for $ 800.00. Three or four pulls will get it started even after sitting over a month. Never use it more than 3 days in a row and it sits more than it is used so we considered it a practical purchase.

I bought my Chinese 4000 watt from Amazon and paid only 279, to run my ac a couple times a year, it is not an inverter...
