Wiring to ceiling fan colors & source question

I'm installing a ComfortAir fan in place of the front vent in my 2000 Bambi. I've pulled the old vent out, and I found a set of wires in the ceiling, presumably there for an optional fan. Yellow and Green. Okay, that celing power circuit is yellow wires. Is the green a ground? All the grounds are white, I thought. Secondly, checking with a voltmeter, using the working ceiling light nearby for a white wire ground connection, I can't find any power in either Yellow or Green. I guess I can tap into the light circuit to power the fan, but if the factory wires are there I should be able to use them, right? Sheesh...
