The problems I had with my 69 Airstream Armstrong AC were impossible to fathom because of inadequate power to the unit. In the shop & on the road it did well, but not at home. Make sure you have at least 10V to the Airstream. 30 amps is preferable with older armstrongs. Next check the freon level. Hope this helps

How far did you have to pull your wires? I've got a 150 foot run from my breaker box to where I'm planning on putting my 30 amp recepticle. I would love to use #8 instead of #6 to be able to run my a/c without problems. Bob
