Winter project time

Winter project time, thinking about cleaning up the wire mess
shown in the attached pictures, what a mess, everything work
great in the 65 Caravel, but would like to modernizes the mess
my question is, would this be a difficult task to do?, are there any
example's out there......thanks

Hi toastie; If you are not familiar with soldering new non insulated terminal rings and heat shrink installation, you better take John's advice. However if you want the professional look in your electrical closet, you can purchase two junction blocks. One for positive side, and one for negative.
The problem you may encounter is where to place them, second issue,
will you have enough length in the wire to connect them at the block location. In order not to make a mistake, you can transfer one wire at the time. Strip the insulation from ends of wire, crimp and solder new ring terminals. Be sure to place heat shrink sleeve on the wire before installing the ring terminal.
If your wires are too short to reach the block, you may have to extend the wires. To do a professional job, they will have to be of the same Gage and color. Any splices in wires should be crimped in a connector sleeve, soldered and heat shrink'ed over splices, to avoid shorting out. Job is not a rocket science and it does take time but it may be something you may enjoy, and be proud of when is done. Good luck if you choose to proceed with the project. "Boatdoc"

i ripped all tha junk out of mine and installed a new intellipower, so i could power the new fantastic fan and upcoming electric jack (my original provided 12-18V AC to the interior stuff... frustrating!) i've got it all tied back together with wirenuts to make sure everything works, and plan on putting in a new distribution block, when i get the time and desire. in my trade wind, it's hidden in teh back bottom of a cabinet that's a contortionist's dream to work on. might be another one of my many winter projects as well!
