What type of outlet boxes for 120 volt?

I ran all new wiring in our 79 Sovereign and now I'm at a point where I'm adding, outlets on the 120 volt circuits. The walls in the Airstream are not as deep as residential walls so I'm having difficulties finding a box that is deep enough to hold the wiring, the outlet AND fit in the limited depth between the inner and outer skins. What are other folks using out there?

There is a shallow box, blue in color. I purchased them at HD.

Just curious...what prompted you to run new 110 in your 79?

You will need shallow single gang boxes, you can find them in either plastic or steel. Home Depot or Lowe's may have them otherwise and electrical supply house can get them for you. Good luck.

What type of oulet boxes for 120 volt?

Thanks for responses. I'll keep 'a looking. We bought the AS used and it needed serious electrical work, had some water damage so I ultimately decided to gut it last fall.

Here is a photo of some of the wiring on our blog. We ultimately tore it down to the frame [shell on], and are rebuilding it from the ground up - including new Dexter axles. The blog is recording our work. Our last name is Golden and are planning to do a Mexican architecturally-influenced interior so we named her 'Casita del Oro'.

Vintage trailer sells these:

Shallow Phenolic Outlet Box

They are a tad pricey, but they do have the advantage of being a tad larger than the shallow blue boxes you can buy at Home Depot, Menard's, or Lowe's. I'm using the blue boxes if there is only one 110 VAC wire in the box with the outlet at the end of a circuit run, and using these from Vintage where I have 2 wires (1 in and 1 out to feed downstream outlets). They are as close to the original box size as I've been able to find.

Current production trailers use a special outlet that doesn't require an outlet box. You could try those.
