What harness is this for?
In my new 72 land yacht, Behind the clock is an unused wiring harness. Any ideas what they would be used for?

If you have or can get a manual it should say what each wire is by color even if the option was not installed on your unit.

I've had mine (73, but otherwise identical) out before, and I don't recall seeing anything at all like that in there. I'd guess it was a po mod, maybe for a cb or other radio.

Is the stereo missing from the cabinet below? They might be for that if it's missing. The downloadable Owner's Manual doesn't get into the specifics but if you can get your hands on a Service Manual, it has the electrical schematics for each model.

You have got 4 and maybe 5, I can't tell how that #12 blue and white terminate, circuits there and they do not look like PO additions because of the type of connectors. Could be a prewire for a radio and 4 speaker with the dealer installing it and the antenna if purchased.

Those wires look exactly like the wiring for the radio in my 74 land yacht. I have to agree, it's for the radio. Those paired wires likely run to the speaker locations in the front and rear, whether or not speakers are installed there.

I would bet those wires are for a stereo with 2 sets of speakers.
