This (grey) wire assembly was not connected to anything when we took out the stove/oven in our '78 Argosy. Does anyone know what is was originally for? It does not appear to hook up to the stove.

Good question, is there anything on the outside that might line up with the wires, a lite in the furnace compartment maybe? They are light gage wires 12V so they are lighting or control wires but being just 2 wires is curious. Speaker wires are usually braided wire and these look like solid copper, maybe 16 or 18 gage, with the grommet in the wall they are defiantly factory?
I'm stumped!

Test them with a meter to see if they are live. Start with the meter set on 110 volt AC if nothing, go to 12 volt DC. If live 12 volt I bet it was for a 12 volt oven light. If not live, start flipping each switch and test to see if they are controlled by a switch.
In my 78 Sov, I have the same wire coming out of the same location and it's for the oven light. Perhaps it was prewired but not used? When you say "they are live 12V", do you mean both are live or one's live and the other's a ground?
Thanks, folks. Yes that is the best guess- for the oven light that I don't have. I am guessing that the wires have whatever they are supposed to - one hot, and one ground (?). I am a techno-boobie in many things-I did not mean to imply they were both live...
