What are these........ wires for?

There is a black and red wire laying in front of the Univolt cover.about a #18 gauge. Both have angle boots on them. Havn't a clue what they are for?? Hint: the ampmeter at the control center dosen't work!! Tom

Look in the "univolt" for a copper plate. That plate should have two "studs" on it. That where those two wires go, as they are for the ammeter. If some other type charger has been installed, then that's another story. Would need to know exactly what was installed.

My Univolt (MagneTek model 940) does not have those wires but my Ammeter DOES work. Does that mean the current is being read from the distribution panel?
