Water Pump Replacement ?

My original 1978 PAR water pump finally bit the dust. I bought a new shurflo to use as a replacement. The old water pump had one orange and one white wire connected to black and blue wires on the PAR water pump.

The new shurflo has has one black and one red wire - how do I connect this to the old wires? I'm assuming trailer orange to pump black and trailer white to pump red, but wanted to make sure.

Thanks!

Vice versa? I had trailer black, and trailer white. I hooked the black to black, and the red to white. (Actually I think it will work either way, try it and see)

I vote the other way. The black on the pump is ground, red goes to the switch and fuse panel.

On the trailer side, the white is the ground, and the colored wire is positive. So it would be trailer white to pump black, and trailer orange to pump red.

Test it before you make the connections permanent.
