Vintage 1966 30 amp plug?

Hi gang,

Does anybody recognize this plug? It's connected to our '66 Streamline. I'm pretty sure that I tried it at the last campground we stayed at, and it didn't fit. It looks an awful lot like the current 30 amp plugs, but just different enough that I assume they switched styles at some point.

I'm assuming my best option is to cut it off and install a new plug. I have adapters to convert it to 15/20 amps, which we have used successfully. But I'd like to test and ideally use the A/C this summer so I need to have 30 amps.

Thanks!
Ian

You can go to Camping World (or any other RV accessory toy store) and buy a replacement plug like this example. Only the ground is a little different.

It looks like a 240v plug. Replace it with a 120v plug from the rv store. Also get an adaptor so you can plug it into a 15 amp or 20 amp regular receptacle. If it is a 20 amp receptacle you should be able to operate the AC fine.
