Victron BMV monitor location

Post pics of your Victron BMV monitor location. I’m looking to mount mine in our 2014 23D and want ideas.
I have the prewire prepped to use but.... where I want to mount the monitor in the wall by the tank monitor display there is a up and down aluminum rib.
I’m thinking over the microwave or beside the living area TV.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I know the unit is Bluetooth and can be hidden but I want to be able to uses the head unit also.

Hi

Mine is mounted under the sofa completely out of sight. The bluetooth connection is fine for whatever I need to see.

I wanted mine out of sight but easily accessible. I also wasn't inclined to want to cut into any cabinetry or metal. I picked up a cheap gauge mount bracket at my local auto parts store and mounted the meter just inside the cabinet under the kitchen sink.

The monitor itself is stuck to the Classics 'mouse fur' with my trusty velcro....behind the curtains.
I keep track in the house on the mac.

We too didn’t want a hole in the wall so we opted to have AM Solar put it on the rear inside bulkhead of the overhead cabinet. Easily accessible but non-obtrusive. 99% of the time I will use the BlueTooth app for all functions.

On the 25’ there are panels inside the bathroom on either side of the door at 45 degree angle. One of these is a chase for the black vent pipe. The other, though, is just there for cosmetic purposes. This allows you to cut a hole in the wood facing the hall and mount the gauge there with the rear of the BMV concealed inside that 45 degree void. Sorry, no pictures. It’s a very handy location.

Not sure if there is anything similar in your 23’s bathroom. You might poke around.

Even though ours is Bluetooth I do find we look at it several times a day so I’m glad I didn’t bury it.

I have mine inside one of the external compartments, facing outward. This allows me to peek in through the access door and read the gauge if I'm outside without my phone/bluetooth.

Honestly... once you get used to it, you'll check the battery less and less.

Hi

That's been my experience. I do a once a day or once every couple days (depends on how we are camping) check on solar and battery. Checking the history logs is as much part of it as anything else. The little monitor gizmo gives you a lot less information than the phone app.

I ran with the monitor "out in the open" for a while and then decided it was taking up space needlessly.

We used a small detached mount that can pivot. I felt that it was too likely that other equipment would come in to play later and for that reason did not want to core into the walls.

I have a 2017 23D and originally mounted mine in the storage compartment below the couch, but moved it to a more decorative mount and placed it on top a shelf I built. All secured with command strips, no holes. Click image for larger version

Take a look at posting #4 where I provided a link to a picture of the installation in our 2018 Bambi.
