Upgrade for external GFCI outlet

Would either of these work for replacement the outside outlets?
Particularly the stainless Marinco. Does anyone know how it latches closed and can it be mounted horizontally?

Stainless Steel Receptacle Cover With Lift Lid | Marinco

I wonder what these would be like stripped of gray paint, polished up and clear coated? Anybody done this?

ICOCBW, but I don't think this cover actually latches, it simply has a spring closure. if mounted hinge forward to the tongue, it might work OK at keeping water out of the outlet when moving. probably be all right at rest when closed.

i believe that these are plastic, but might take a coat of paint? Krylon offers a Chrome Aluminum metallic

The second I listed is cast aluminum. Maybe that's the way to go?
