Univolt replacement with Inteli Power
I'm just about ready to replace my original Univolt with a new Inteli Power 9100 and Charge Wizard. I don't normally get to involved with electrical stuff since I know so little about it, but this looks like a pretty simple swap out.
All the instructions say is "the output terminals are rated for 2 to 14 ga. copper or aluminum wire." Thats about the extent of the directions.... So my question for anyone out there who has done this replacement, could you help me out with some advice on the type of wire to use to connect the Inteli Power to the fuse distribution box?
Also - is there a way to continue to use the "power" line to the service display panel with the Inteli Power? How would you wire that??

There should be a simple diagram included with you new converter. The only thing you want to make sure to have the output of the converter go straight to the battery and then feed your fuse panel off the battery, something to do with the path of current if I remember correctly. And also be sure to ground the converter to your frame. If your old Univolt had integrated fuses you will need to add an external fuse block. You will lose the ac on indicator in your control center, I am sure there is a way to hook it up but haven't figured it out yet myself.

the only thing you will lose is the one light on your panel. it indicates that ac is connected. i havent missed it. when you remove the old power supply just remember where the wires were connected. you will have a positive and negative and a chassis ground to the case. i dont know what you are refering to 14 agw maybe the chassis ground, the other two wires need to be at least 2 agw i would think. look at the wire coming off the old power supply and try to match it. if the ols supply is bad use the old wire.lol

Got the new converter installed this morning. This was one of the easiest fixes I've done yet!! And no notoicable noise!

dont know if you received the charge wizzard instructions. but i did and if i park the silver weenie i put the charge wizard in store mode. the modes are solid led 14 volts, fast blinking led 13+ volts, a slow 8 sec blinking led should be 12+ volts but it is 13 on my meter.
to get the charge wizzard to cycle thru these modes just hold the button down on the charge wizzard.
in the store mode the wizard (8 second blinking led) keeps the batteries up and doesnt boil over. i have added water one time in four months was a little low but not much. i keep power on all the time .
my old charger was burning up a pair of batterys up every 11 months interstate replaced them 4 times and told me next time i had to pay. lol al

missed that one but i have a light in the outlet above the stove it is a small thing that came with the coach and i got in the habit of checking it . my control panel eats bulbs. lol
