Univolt - its warm but humming!

I am ready to have a 13,500 BTU ac added to my 68 GT. Is the Univolt ready to handle the load. I think it is 30 amp/ I noticed it was warm, not hot, is that normal? I would guess yes.

Thanks- Bryan

The Univolt is a 12 volt power supply/ battery charger seperate from the 120 volt system.
warm and humming are common AND DEAD/LEAKING CAPACITORS ARE COMMON! I just put new caps in my 1980 Univolt with excellent results.

Bryan,
The univolt only converts regular household electricity to 12 volt for the lights and fans, it also recharges the battery(s). Your AirConditioner will be hooked up to the circuit breaker panel where the 120 volt house power comes in. So you are good to go as long as the correct sized breaker is installed. BTW my Uni-volt hums too, one of these days it will be replaced with a newer quieter unit.

Aaron
