Ronnie what post option did you get? I think they come with standard auto terminals but can't tell from the pics if that includes the thumbscrew terminal as well next to each post? Or did you get the bolt terminals and change out the automotive connectors on your trailer to ring terminals?

I was looking at the Lifeline AGM but decided for about $100 vs $300 each, I don't mind checking the water! Especially since outside and not inside the trailer, can't really think of any other advantage to AGM for triple the price?

I agree. Lead acid hard to beat unless you need to have them inside due to tongue weight. For my use cheap is best.

I got the regular automotive terminals which have a bolt lug for smaller wires out of the post. This made for a direct swap out.

Perfect thanks. Sure envious of your box extender. As I'm not a welder, I've been mulling over how to build one. Might have something made up at a metal fabricator.

I might be able to find the time to make you one if you cover materials.

Something like this? I have a brand new one that I was going to use on my 30’, sold it before i had the chance to put it on now it won’t clear the cargo door on our 27FB. Original price was $110 plus shipping.

I realized it might have sounded like I was 'fishing' but I promise I wasn't! I'd be tempted to take you up on that, but it's camping season and I'd be wracked with guilt! I was considering one of Vinnie's for $110 plus shipping, I think he's got them welded up in stock. I'd gladly pay you an equal amount if you really felt like doing it.

I just read through your blog. That is a ridiculously helpful contribution to this forum! Thank you!

Thanks. The blog is a work in progress. I would be happy to provide a “custom” extension ring. I’ll pull the materials together. Stay in touch.

Not really a question, just a comment. I'm calling around for Trojan T105 pricing. Shocked at the variance. RV Dealer: $209 EACH! (with a 10% discount lol). Golf Cart Dealer: $112 at one, $120 at another. Then a big battery Distributor that I figured would be the best price based on volume: $157! All with core exchanges of course.

Looks like $112 plus core (probably an $8 hit on the Interstate SRM 24 cores) so $120 with exchange. I'm probably OK with that but seriously wondering about just doing the Costco/Interstate 6v's for $93 + core? 210 AH vs. 225 AH. $50 less for the pair (Costco won't hit me for exchanging the Interstate cores).

Anyone want to talk me in to spending the extra $50? (OK so I guess that is a question.)

My understanding is that the Trojans will have thicker plates than the Costco batteries. Which means they should last longer. Maybe.....

Yeah I've been thinking on it today. Even just the 30 total extra AH is worth it for the 50 bucks. As long as I'm doing it and adding the solar, that's a corner I probably don't want to cut.
